The weather hasn’t quite caught the memo that we’re ready to fish. With the river remaining stubbornly high and the rain coming down hard, fishing is officially off the cards for the moment.

While we’d all much rather be out on the beat, the silver lining of a “washout” is the chance to catch up on prep. It’s the perfect opportunity to retreat to the warmth and tie up some fresh tubes. There is something satisfying about preparing for the turn in the weather. We’re restocking the fly boxes with:

  • Heavy tubes for the high, cold flows.
  • Bright patterns to cut through the peat-stained water.

The rain will eventually stop, and when those levels finally drop, we’ll be ready to hit the water with a full arsenal.
