The top of the beat meets the Upper Delvine fishing, and the excellent Boatlands Pool can be fished from both banks with fly and spinner.
The Pulpit from the right bank has deep, slow flowing water and spinning works well throughout the season. This runs into the Garden Stream with some fast water which will hold a number of grilse especially towards the end of the season. Fished from the right bank, the stream has easy wading and is excellent fly water.
In the middle of the beat is the “Dungeon” a pool up to 20 ft deep which holds fish throughout the year with some resident monsters. Fish will show here throughout the day although not always easy to entice, the loud splashes from leaping fish will keep an angler motivated. The beat can be fished from both sides depending on water conditions and moving downstream from the Dungeon, the water in front of the fishing hut produces a lot of fish in the Upper and Lower Gean Tree pools fishable from both banks. The river then moves into the faster flowing Cottage stream with 300 yards of excellent fly water fished from the right bank and then into two holding areas the 1st and 2nd Croys which can be fished through with the fly or spinner. The Cattle Drink produces a good number of fish at the right height, and the river continues its way to eventually meet with the Meiklour and Islamouth beat at the March pool.
