The season at Kercock kicked off in fine style, greeted by a “lovely” Scottish winter morning—biting cold but bathed in bright sunshine.

Around twenty guests and anglers gathered at the water’s edge to mark the occasion. In keeping with tradition, Alastair led the opening ceremony, raising a dram (or two!) to toast the health of the river, the beat, and the boat. It was a warm moment of camaraderie shared by all the supporters in attendance.

The fresh fish might be playing hard to get for now, but with the season officially underway and the spirits high, we’re looking forward to a fantastic year ahead on the water.
