Twelve year old Josh Lang has spent the last year fishing with twin brother Jo and they have caught pike, carp, perch and trout but were keen to add to that list with a salmon. With grandfather James and father John they had booked a day at Kercock. The river was still pretty high but falling but still very coloured. We hadn’t had a fish on Friday and so optimism was tempered but third cast in the afternoon Josh got hold of this 15lb beauty. Helped by the rest of the family with shouts of ” let it run let it run”| and ” keep it tight ” Josh played the fish brilliantly and James managed to net it with cheers from the supporters!
What a first fish to remember and there are two more young salmon fishers now hooked!
