Directions to Kercock PH1 4QP

Coming from the South on the A9: head North towards Perth, at the Broxden roundabout take the 1st exit signposted A9 Inverness then follow directions below from the Inveralmond roundabout.

Coming from the South East on the M90: head towards Perth/Inverness, exit at junction 10 and head towards A9 Inverness. At the Broxden roundabout take the 2nd exit signposted A9 Inverness then follow directions below from the inveralmond roundabout.

At the Inveralmond roundabout: take the 2nd exit signposted A9 Inverness.  Follow the A9 North for approximately 3 miles and take the Bankfoot exit on your left.  Take the 1st right signposted Perth then (very soon after) turn right again (signposted Murthly 4 miles) follow the road until you come to a T Junction.  Turn left towards Murthly, take the first right (signposted Kinclaven) you will come to a railway crossing, continue on this road (which then becomes a narrow country road) until you pass a long beech hedge on your left hand side.  At the end of the hedge turn left onto a track (opposite a Woodland Trust car park), follow this track straight all the way down.

Coming from the North on the A9: head South towards Perth, take the 2nd Bankfoot exit left (not the first exit on the right, adjacent to Birnam) and leave the A9.  Take the immediate left (signposted Murthly) for approximately 4 miles until you come to a T Junction.  Turn left towards Murthly, take the first right (signposted Kinclaven) you will come to a railway crossing, continue on this road (which then becomes a narrow country road) until you pass a long beech hedge on your left hand side.  At the end of the hedge turn left onto a track (opposite a Woodland Trust car park), follow this track straight all the way down.

Coming from the North on the A90: head South towards Perth, drive until the the A94 exit Forfar/Coupar Angus (this is at the Glamis Junction – you take a slight left, near a McDonalds restaurant), follow road round then at roundabout take 1st exit onto the A94, at the next roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A94, stay on the A94 for approximately 15 miles. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Blairgowrie Road/A923, follow road then turn left (a sharp turn) onto Old Military Road/A984, follow road then turn left onto the A93 stay on the A93 until you turn right towards Kinclaven; cross bridge at Islamouth; keep on Kinclaven Road (do not turn left towards Ballathie).  Turn right onto a track (opposite a Woodland Trust car park), follow this track straight all the way down.

From Blairgowrie:  heading Southwest towards Perth on the A93 from Blairgowrie, stay on the A93 until you turn right towards Kinclaven; cross the bridge at Islamouth; keep on the Kinclaven Road (do not turn towards Ballathie).  Turn right onto a track (opposite a Woodland Trust car park), follow this track straight all the way down.

From Kirriemuir, at crossroads turn right onto Cortachy Road – B955 (Slade Road).  At crossroads turn right onto the A926 signposted Aylth/Blairgowrie (Main Road) at roundabout take 2nd exit stay on the A926, at crossroads continue forward onto the A93 signposted Town Centre/Perth.  At traffic signals continue forward onto the A923 signposted Coupar Angus/Dundee A923 /Perth (Gas Brae).  At mini roundabout turn right onto Reform Street, signposted Perth A93/Dunkeld A923 keep in left hand lane then at T junction turn left onto the A93, signposted Dunkeld A923, at crossroads continue forward onto the A93, signposted Perth.  Stay on the A93 until you turn right towards Kinclaven, cross bridge at Islamouth; keep on Kinclaven Road (do not turn towards Ballathie).  Turn right onto a track (opposite a Woodland Trust car park), follow this track straight all the way down.

From Birnam: follow the A923 (Perth Road) towards Dunkeld, cross bridge to Dunkeld, turn 1st right onto the A984 signposted Couper Angus (Boat road then becomes Old Military Road) stay on the A984 follow road, turn right onto the B9099 (Bridge Road) signposted Murthly/Stanley follow road, turn left onto Station Road, signposted Kinclaven.  You will come to a railway crossing, continue on this road (which then becomes a narrow country road) until you pass a long beech hedge on your left hand side.  Where the hedge stops turn left onto a track (opposite a Woodland Trust car park), follow this track straight all the way down.

From Dunkeld: follow the A923 (Atholl Street) towards Perth, just before the bridge turn left onto the A984 signposted Coupar Angus follow the road (Boat Road then becomes Old Military Road), stay on the A984. Turn right onto the B9099 (Bridge Road) signposted Murthly/Stanley, follow road. Turn left onto Station Road signposted Kinclaven.  You will come to a railway crossing, continue on this road (which then becomes a narrow country road) until you pass a long beech hedge on your left hand side. Where the hedge stops turn left onto a track (opposite a Woodland Trust car park), follow this track straight all the way down.

From Ballathie House Hotel: leaving from Ballathie House turn right, very shortly after turn left (there are some very tall trees to the left and a large farm shed to the right as you turn in to the small road) this is a sharp turn and easy to miss. At the end of the road turn right, you will see a beech hedge on your left hand side; where the hedge stops turn left onto a track (opposite a Woodland Trust car park), follow the track straight all the way down.

From The Tayside Hotel, Stanley: turn left then right onto the B9099 follow road. Turn right signposted Kinclaven/Blairgowrie, follow road for approximately 2 miles, you will pass by the Old Smiddy Inn on your left, and then a brown sign for Ballathie House Hotel, very shortly after this sign turn left (there are some very tall trees to the left and a large farm shed to the right as you turn in to the very narrow road) this is a sharp turn and easy to miss. At the end of the road turn right, you will see a beech hedge on your left hand side; where the hedge stops turn left onto a track (opposite a Woodland Trust car park), follow the track straight all the way down.

From the Bankfoot Inn: head south on Main street, turn left signposted Perth/Kinclaven, take first right signposted Murthly 4 miles, follow road until you come to a T junction. Turn left towards Murthly, take the first right, signposted Kinclaven, you come to a railway crossing, continue on this road (which becomes a narrow country road) until you pass a long beech hedge on your left hand side; where the hedge stops turn left onto a track (opposite a Woodland Trust car park), follow the track straight all the way down.

From the Meikleour Arms hotel: leaving from Meikleour Arms Hotel turn left onto the A984, follow road until junction with A93, turn right onto the A93, stay on the A93 until you turn right towards Kinclaven, cross bridge at Islamouth; keep on Kinclaven Road (do not turn left towards Ballathie). Turn right onto a track (opposite a Woodlands Trust car park), follow this track all the way down.

NB: The post code for the beat is PH1 4QP, a satnav may take you to a house about half way down the track, (do not turn in towards the house), follow the track straight all the way down until you pass through a gate and our small car park is on the left.
